America has changed.
On June 24, 2022, in a once-in-a-generation victory for human rights, the U.S. Supreme Court in its Dobbs decision issued the historic words that would forever change life in America:
Held: The Constitution does not confer a right to abortion; Roe and Casey are overruled; and the authority to regulate abortion is returned to the people and their elected representatives.
In that moment, a new pro-life movement was born.
At Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America, we believe the future is bright when America stands for the value of every human life.
Today, 24 states have robust protections for babies and their mothers. 18 states specifically fund alternatives to abortion.
And in 2022 alone, 2,750 pregnancy centers across America provided vital services at no cost to almost 975,000 new clients, at an estimated value of over $350 million.
Much of this progress has been spearheaded by dynamic pro-life women leaders working tirelessly in statehouses across the country, whose contributions deserve to be shouted from the mountaintops.
At the same time, a narrative of fear and uncertainty is being spread by those who stand to profit from pushing women toward abortion as their only option.
Power-chasing politicians relentlessly seek to impose unlimited abortion, at any time and for any reason for all nine months in every state – even after science shows babies in the womb feel pain. They used to say abortion was tragic and unwanted but necessary; today they tell us it’s “essential health care” that must be available on demand.
Activists sell dangerous DIY mail-order abortion drugs, promoting them as the quick and easy fix for unexpected pregnancy, when in reality they are anything but – and are often a portal into a nightmare of trauma and anguish. Why do they push women to abortion drugs or surgery as a ‘cure-all’ over offering the long-term support women want?
They claim women suffer when babies are protected. They say pro-life Americans are on the losing side of this issue and we should give up and go home.
But here’s the good news: They’re wrong. And we’re not giving up or going home.
The battle for life – for every baby who can be saved and every mother who can be served with true compassion and love – has just begun. America After Dobbs exists to uncover the truth in this fight and shine a spotlight on the stories that aren’t being told.
